José Manuel Ortíz*

José Manuel Ortiz holds a degree in Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) and a Magister in Business Administration (MBA) from the Ross Business School, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA). He is founding member of Cono Sur Investments, with over 25 years of experience in Private Equity, Corporate Finance and Business Management. He’s also cofounder of Cono Sur Capital, and previously he has cofounded CoInvest Argentina. As a Director of both Companies, he has been part of numerous and relevant private equity transactions in Argentina and Uruguay since the year 2000. He has also been Managing Director of The Exxel Group between 1992 and 1999. He was in charge of initial screenings, due diligence, negotiations and closing of private equity transactions, and also its financing and monitoring. At the beginning of his career he occupied several position at Grupo Techint.
